BRIONI
A company committed to constantly seeking innovations, experimenting with colors cloths and structures, refining details……….
To produce garments made of the finest fabric, and satisfying the personal taste and style of the individual.
or over 50 years this undisputed world leather in quality men’s wear has continued to dominate the sartorial world of exclusive hand tailored clothing. Since 1952 when the company revolutionalized the world of men’s wear by designing and staging an entire collection of the first ever fashion show for men introducing daring and flamboyant colors that had never been used, as well as flexible fabrics, Brioni has never looked back. In addition to it’s made to measure classic garments with which the company started in 1945 by master tailor Nazereno Fonticoli and Gaetano Savini, the company marked a turning point when it created it’s “Brioni Roman style” label in 1960. This new line was to expand the company’s frontier’s to accommodate a ready-to-wear market.
The move saw Brioni establishing a factory that would cater for its mass production needs. Today Brioni employs about 1000 tailors and seamstresses in the workshop factory in penne in the Abruzzi region of Italy, overlooking the Adriatic. From here they ship out 25 handmade suits everyday to 300 of the worlds most exclusive men’s wear shops and stores (Including Silky Touch) whose customer list for Brioni suits read like an international who is who of business, politics, royalty and the Arts.
From the onset Brioni’s goal clearly was to straddle the up market sartorial world. In 1990 the company commenced a five-year expansion programme to establish a high quality total look, by acquiring a series of leading manufacturers in related products to form the Brioni group. Within this period also a new factory was built to produce “Brioni Sport” a collection of luxury weekend clothes including shirts, trousers, for casual sports wear. More recent acquisition include the notable international atelier Sforza who now produces for Brioni the finest quality leather and suede clothing including rare fur lined top coats.
The spectacular success of Brioni perhaps, lies in abhorring complacency and never taking the market for granted. Besides opening up new retail outlets and signing franchise partnership in 5 continents, the worldwide CEO of Brioni spends more time visiting their customers around the world. Usually accompanied by a master tailor, Umberto Angelina regularly makes personal appearances at important function to the delight and appreciation of their well- to-do and usually influential customers. Such close interactions enable the company to learn more and respond to the peculiar sartorial details and needs of their new customers. Though diverse in their cultures, however, Brioni customers around the world have one common underlining requirement: classic elegance.
With the legendary reputation of outstanding dominance of high profile style it was not surprising therefore when the maker of the all-successful movie series James Bond hero in the series last three movies including Golden eye, Tomorrow Never dies and the currently filming, The world is not enough.
The unequally wardrobe assemblage for the return of cinema’s most acclaimed suited hero is a further demonstration of the outstanding craftsmanship that is Brioni. |
